Testing and Evaluation (TE)

TEU offers psychological evaluation and consultation services guided by trained and well-recognized experts. In this unit, the endeavor was to employ persons who are psychologically qualified and meet the determined requirements. This unit acts as a hub of the Bahoz center. In this unite there are standardized scales for evaluation and diagnosis of different types of developmental disabilities. Based on the information obtained from this unit data for the development of treatment plan, Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), educational and training placement will be provided.

The output of the evaluation and testing for each individual is two types of reports:

1. A formal report for parents/caregivers in which the diagnosis, the level of the severity of the symptoms, and its percentage will be presented.

2. A formal confidential report which entails detailed information on the reports of the subtests to make the development of treatment plans and IEPs possible.

There are different scales and tests for different types of developmental disabilities that are listed below:

GARS2 and GARS 3 (Autism Spectrum Disorders)

SNAP and Conners (ADHD)

Down Syndrome Evaluation Scale

Vailand Adaptive Behavior Scale

Dexterity Evaluation

WISC-R (The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children) is an individually administered intelligence test for children between the ages of 6 and 16. 

WPPSI (Wechsler Preschool & Primary Scale of Intelligence) is an individually administered intelligence test for children between the ages of 3 to 6.

Goodenough-Harris Draw a Person Test (DAP) Drawing Ability and IQ complimentary scale

Anxiety Scale for Children with ASD (ASC-ASD) (Both Parental and Children Scales)

Several screening scales are supervised by this unit and the follow-up for all those scales is performed by psychologists at this unit.

This department has also been engaged in translation and standardization of the scales which are non-Kurdish, to be able to provide valid and reliable scales in the area.

Annual in-service training is considered for the staff of this unit and they have been engaged in some international publications.
