About Bahoz Center
Our journey began in 2009 with the birth of our son, Bahoz. Soon after, we discovered that he was experiencing challenges with hearing and development. At that time, in Erbil (North Iraq), there were no qualified training or rehabilitation centres, leaving us with no option but to seek services abroad for more than four years.
Raising a child with neurodevelopmental differences is a journey filled with love, but it also brings unique challenges. Parents and caregivers often face emotional, social, and financial pressures. In countries like ours, these challenges are compounded by a shortage of qualified professionals, limited formal support systems, and the social stigma surrounding disability.
These experiences inspired me to establish Bahoz Center in 2015, a professional day-care and rehabilitation centre in Erbil (North Iraq). The centre was founded to ease the burdens on families by providing high-quality, compassionate services for children with diverse developmental needs.
Caring for children with developmental differences is not the responsibility of families alone. From government institutions to human rights organisations and the wider community, we all share the responsibility of creating an inclusive, supportive environment where every child can thrive.
At Bahoz Center, we are committed to ensuring that every child is valued, every family is supported, and every effort is made to help children reach their full potential. Children matter, to their families, to their communities, and to the future we build together.
