Clinical Units for individualized training and Rehabilitation

This unit consists of 3 other different sub-units:

A. Speech Therapy

This unit is specialized in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders (speech and language impairments), cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders, and swallowing disorders. This unit also plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of children with developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (often in a team with specialists and psychologists at the Bahoz center).

Similar to other rehabilitation services children at their early stage of communication delay symptoms emergence might more effectively benefit these services hence there is no age limitation for individuals who want to benefit from this unit. People who are entitled to receive services are individuals with: 

communication problems

Hearing problems

cochlear implant

Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities

Speech and language delay

Voice disorders

Starring

Cerebral Palsy

 

Professionals in this unit participate in the evaluation of the individuals and IEP development sessions. Treatments are provided based on the treatment plans that are prepared to offer rehabilitation services for a round of 20 t0 30 sessions and need to be updated after these sessions. There are hundreds of approved training contents that are coded following their type (Exercise, Play, or Task) which applied in this unit. This unit is well equipped with different tools and hundreds of training and learning items that are obtained and coded based on the different areas which are considered in the rehabilitation program to meet individuals' unique needs.

Staff in this unit are trained and they can consider behavioral, structured, and communication approaches. Especially Intensive interaction is the approach that is applied in this unite to remediate the bases of communication such as eye contact, turn-taking, and joint attention in individuals with developmental disabilities. 

 

B. Occupational Therapy

The occupational therapy unit in the Bahoz center uses assessment and intervention to develop, recover, or maintain the meaningful activities, or occupations, of individuals, groups, or children with developmental disabilities. This allied health profession performed by occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants uses activities of daily living as a modality for their intervention. Performing daily activities and being included in the community is the main goal of this unit. Evaluation of the movement and motor development in two levels of Gross and Fine are performed and treatment plans are provided for the individuals who are admitted in this unit.

Similar to other rehabilitation services children at their early stage of motor delay symptom emergence might more effectively benefit 

services hence there are no age limitations for individuals who want to benefit from this unit. People who are entitled to receive services are individuals with:

Motor development delay such as those who have congenital motor development

Cerebral Palsy

Autism Spectrum Disorders

Mental disabilities

Intellectual and developmental disabilities

Brain Stroke

Treatments are provided based on the treatment plans that are prepared to offer rehabilitation services for a round of 20 t0 30 sessions and need to be updated after these sessions. There are hundreds of approved training contents that are coded following their type (Exercise, Play, or Task) which applied in this unit. This unit is well equipped with different tools and hundreds of training and learning items that are obtained and coded based on the different areas which are considered in the rehabilitation program to meet individuals' unique needs.

C. Cognitive/Behavior Training

Individuals who benefit from these services are those who have special learning disabilities and those who have behavioral challenges that impede participation in the group sessions. Treatments are provided based on the treatment plans that are prepared to offer special training services for a round of 20 t0 30 sessions and need to be updated after these sessions. There are hundreds of approved training contents that are coded under their type (Exercise, Play, or Task) applied in this unit. This unit is well equipped with different tools and hundreds of training and learning items that are obtained and coded based on the different areas which are considered in the rehabilitation program to meet individuals' unique needs.

Staff in this unit are the same trainers who are working in the morning services of daycare and early intervention units. They are trained and can consider behavioral, structured, and communication approaches.
